The exhibition in the Amerikahaus on 60 years of the Munich Security Conference can no longer be visited. However, you will soon be able to discover all #MunichMoments on this website. Look forward to exciting stories and background information from six decades of foreign and security policy in Munich.

Over more than six decades, the Munich Security Conference (MSC) has developed into the world's most important stage for international security policy. Every year in February, it brings together more than 500 decision-makers and thought leaders from all over the world to discuss the challenges of today and tomorrow. Political issues can be discussed at the highest level in a protected setting of informal exchange.

The Munich Security Conference has changed considerably since the first military studies meeting at the end of November 1963. It has grown, opened up and broadened its focus. The MSC represents a comprehensive concept of security that includes not only traditional national and international security issues, but also - among other things - the economic, environmental and human dimensions of security. At its core, the MSC remains true to its transatlantic orientation and the spirit of open debate that was immensely important to its founder, Ewald-Heinrich von Kleist.

The exhibition on 60 years of the Munich Security Conference illustrated the dynamics of a global idea of security that is based on talking and listening to each other.

The people, topics and images - especially the special Munich Moments - bring to life the MSC's goal of building trust and contributing to the peaceful resolution of conflicts through continuous and informal dialogue within the international security community. In the defense of peace, words can be an unconventional but sharp weapon. However - and this is made clear by looking at the timeline - not every aggressor can be stopped with words.
