Dr. Tobias Bunde

Director of Research & Policy

Tobias Bunde is Director of Research & Policy at the Munich Security Conference (MSC). He is also a member of the Executive Board of the Munich Security Conference Foundation.

Tobias has studied International Relations in Dresden, Strasbourg, Berlin/Potsdam and Washington, DC, and holds a PhD in Political Science from Freie Universität Berlin. In addition to his work for the Munich Security Conference, Tobias is also Professor of International Security at the Hertie School’s Centre for International Security. His research has been supported by, among others, the German National Academic Foundation, the DAAD, and the Stanton Foundation. He publishes in both academic and policy-oriented outlets – mostly on German foreign and security policy, security cooperation among liberal democracies, and international order.
