Current Information on MSC 2022

The 58^th Munich Security Conference (MSC) will take place between February 18 and 20, 2022 at its usual venue, the Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich. The MSC 2022 will welcome fewer guests and media representatives as well as smaller delegations due to comprehensive hygiene and safety measures in place at the conference venue. Additionally, hybrid formats will be introduced for the first time in 2022.

We are well aware of the exceptional circumstances and the additional requirements due to the ongoing pandemic. The health of all stakeholders involved in the main conference as well as the Munich public is of paramount importance to us. Together with our partners and in close consultation with the relevant authorities, we are working on a comprehensive health and safety concept containing strict hygiene measures.

The MSC 2022 will be different from the conferences of previous years. It will not only be held in a reduced format with fewer guests, fewer media representatives, and smaller delegations travelling to Munich, but we will also introduce a number of innovative participatory formats to complement our traditional activities. Our focus on high-level participation, maximum interaction and a carefully curated mix of public and off-the-record formats will remain.

Due to the strict COVID-19 regulations and limited access to the Hotel Bayerischer Hof, only media partners of the MSC will be present within the hotel. Few media channels may also have the opportunity to conduct their coverage outside in front of the conference venue. For the first time, journalists have the opportunity to take part in the program via the digital MSC Conferencing Platform.

There will be an opportunity for media representatives to accredit for the MSC Conferencing Platform of the MSC 2022 via our Website until February 16, 2022.

In order to be accredited as a media representative for the MSC Conferencing Platform of the Munich Security Conference, you need to upload a valid ID card or passport and proof of your journalistic activity (in the form of a press card or an editorial). 

On the MSC Conferencing Platform, accredited journalists will be provided with an interactive offer containing livestreams, digital press conferences with the opportunity to ask questions and conduct interviews as well as exclusive offers of image and video material. In addition, you will find further photo material from past events in our media library.

Your press team may watch the live-streams from the digital conferencing platform of the MSC and use the press photos that will be provided there. You can also use the photos from our media library under denomination of the respective sources for your purposes.
