The MSC offers accompaniment by our Media Operations Team to appointments and events inside the Hotel Bayerischer Hof. Access to the Hotel Bayerischer Hof is strictly regulated, and numerous areas cannot be accessed with the yellow press badge without the additional accompaniment by members of the Media Operations Team. Pooling for scheduled photo and press appointments will take place at the Press Pooling Area. If you would like to request a separate accompaniment to an interview appointment, please contact mediaops@securityconference.org as early as possible or inform us in person in the Press Center or the Press Pooling Area.
Media representatives can apply for press accreditation via the Press Accreditation Portal until January 31, 2023. We kindly ask you to register as early as possible for your accreditation. Please note thatany participation-requests for the MSC 2023 will not be processed after the end of the accreditation period.
Following the pandemic restrictions in the past years, the MSC is looking forward to once again welcoming numerous media representatives from all around the world. The MSC and its Press Team are committed to enabling international media diversity. We value various expertise in security, economics and foreign policy and aim to provide the best working conditions for all media representatives. However, the working space at the Press Center is limited and strict fire safety regulations are in place. Considering these various aspects, an application may be rejected in individual cases.
The agenda of the MSC 2023 will be published shortly before the conference. You will then find it on our website.
You will get your personalized conference badge at the Press Accreditation Desk at the “Einsäulensaal” at the Residenz München (Residenzstraße 1, 80333 München; approx. 5-minute walking distance from the Hotel Bayerischer Hof). You will receive further information via email regarding the detailed opening times of the Press Accreditation Desk upon successful registration.
During the conference weekend, the conference badge must always be worn and visible. Please report the loss of a conference badge immediately to the Press Accreditation Desk.
The badges are structured in a color scheme which regulates the access to the different areas at the MSC. With the press badges (yellow), you have access to the press entrance and selected locations inside the Hotel Bayerischer Hof. For further information, please note the point “Accompaniment by the Media Operations Team” and “Access regulations”.

The MSC is proud of its diverse media partnerships. Once again, the Bayerischer Rundfunk will serve as the host broadcaster and single point of contact for TV-signaling. The MSC will also build on its successful cooperation with YouTube to host a group of prominent creators from around the world to engage with MSC participants. The Deutsche Welle will also accompany the conference again in 2023. In due course, a complete list of media partners will be available on our website.
As has been the case for the past six decades, the entire event and all its many components will be governed by the Munich Rule: Engage and interact with each other: Don't lecture or ignore one another. Whether on or off stage, we encourage our guests to engage with and learn from each other and we expect all our speakers to stand ready to answer questions and engage with the audience at eye level.
The Munich Security Report (MSR) 2023, the traditional scene-setter for the debates in Munich, will be launched at the Federal Press Conference on February 13 at 10 am. The event will be held in German and streamed live on our website and on our Twitter and YouTube accounts. In addition, we offer a background briefing in English the week before the official launch. This verification must be agreed to in writing as part of the accreditation process in the Press Accreditation Portal. Further information on the police background verification can be found in the attached document in the Press Accreditation Portal.
The safe conduct of the Munich Security Conference is a top priority for both the MSC as organizer of the event and the Bavarian authorities. Therefore, it is necessary that all persons entering the security area around the conference or carrying out an activity on-site undergo a police background verification.
