Information A-Z
A-G
Media representatives can access the Hotel Bayerischer Hof only when accompanied by members of the Media Operations Team. Unfortunately, it will not be possible for media representatives to be present during the sessions in the main conference hall due to limited capacities. Nevertheless, it will be possible to follow the first 5 minutes of selected sessions inside the main conference hall – this applies first and foremost to photographers. The pooling schedule for these sessions and other press related events will be announced at the Media Center and the Press Pooling Area in advance.
The following areas can be accessed without the additional accompaniment by members of the Media Operations Team
- Media Center
- Press Pooling Area and designated press areas inside the HypoVereinsbank
- Stand-up positions in front of Hotel Bayerischer Hof (outside)
Please note that media representatives with luggage can enter the security area by using the entrance at the crossroads Salvatorstraße & Kardinal-Faulhaber-Straße. Before entering the security area, a security check is carried out.
We ask for your understanding that the MSC cannot provide accommodation for media representatives.
The MSC offers accompaniment by our Media Operations Team to appointments and events inside the Hotel Bayerischer Hof. Access to the Hotel Bayerischer Hof is strictly regulated, and numerous areas cannot be accessed with the yellow press badge without the additional accompaniment by members of the Media Operations Team. Pooling for scheduled photo and press appointments will take place in the Press Pooling Area at the rear of the Hotel Bayerischer Hof (accessible via the press entrance in Kardinal-Faulhaber-Straße, 80333 Munich).
The following pooling options are available:
- Pooling for photo opportunities in the main conference hall (only accessible to photographers)
- Access to the sessions open to media representatives (for Main Hall II, Townhall, Public Square), there are places for ten journalists (first-come-first-serve principle applies)
- Individual pooling (for individually arranged appointments and for specific invitations to events at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof or the Hotel Rosewood)
For a separate accompaniment to an appointment you have arranged with a conference participant, please contact mediaops@securityconference.org as early as possible.
Accreditation for media representatives for the 61st edition of the Munich Security Conference is closed. Unfortunately, we can no longer accept accreditation requests.
If you have not registered for the Munich Security Conference, you can follow the entire main program via live stream on our website.
Further information on our accreditation criteria and the accreditation process can be found here.
If you have any questions regarding press accreditation, please contact our Press Registration Team via press-registration@securityconference.org.
The agenda for the MSC 2025 will be published shortly before the conference. You will then find it on our website.
You will get your personalized conference badge at the Press Accreditation Desk at the gallery in the Literaturhaus München (Salvatorplatz 1, 80333 Munich; only a few minutes' walk from the Hotel Bayerischer Hof and the Media Center). You need to present your accreditation confirmation and an identification document at the Press Accreditation Desk. You will receive further information via email regarding the detailed opening hours of the Press Accreditation Desk upon successful registration.
During the conference weekend, the conference badge must always be worn and visible. Please report the loss of a conference badge immediately to the Press Accreditation Desk.
The badges are structured in a color scheme which regulates the access to the different areas at the MSC. With the press badges (yellow), you can access the designated press areas in the HypoVereinsbank via the press entrance, as well as the stand-up positions outside the Hotel Bayerischer Hof and selected locations inside the Hotel Bayerischer Hof (in accompaniment). For further information, please note the points “Accompaniment by the Media Operations Team” and “Access regulations”.
The MSC reserves the right to withdraw press accreditation and badges from journalists whose behavior disrupts the orderly running of the conference or who fail to follow the instructions of security staff or MSC employees.

The pooling for scheduled photo and press appointments takes place 30 minutes before the respective event. The MSC is proud of its diverse media partnerships. Once again, the Bayerischer Rundfunk will serve as the host broadcaster and single point of contact for TV-signaling. The MSC will also build on its successful cooperation with YouTube to host a group of prominent creators from around the world to engage with MSC participants. The Deutsche Welle will also accompany the conference again in 2025. In due course, a complete list of media partners will be available on our website.
As has been the case for more than six decades, the entire event and all its many components will be governed by the Munich Rule: Engage and interact with each other: Don't lecture or ignore one another. Whether on or off stage, we encourage our guests to engage with and learn from each other and we expect all our speakers to stand ready to answer questions and engage with the audience at eye level.
The MSC, founded in the fall of 1963, will hold its 61st main conference in 2025. This year, it will once again bring together high-level decision-makers and experts from around the world to discuss the most pressing international security issues. Over the past six decades, the MSC has constantly evolved, diversified, introduced a number of new discussion formats and broadened its thematic horizons to reflect the changing security landscape. However, the core mission of the MSC has not changed: to provide a platform for sustainable debate and, as the original motto states, to build peace through dialog.
The Munich Security Report (MSR) 2025, the traditional scene-setter for the debates in Munich, will be launched at the Federal Press Conference on February 10, 2025. The report and accompanying materials will be available for download on the MSC website from February 10. Please do not hesitate to contact the MSC Press Team if you are interested in exclusive access to specific aspects of the MSR or an interview with one of the authors of the MSR prior to its official publication.
For the upcoming conference, we are happy to introduce many improvements in order to make your coverage as productive and comfortable as possible:
- Facilities in the HypoVereinsbank are now available for all press events, including interviews. Please note that interviews in the Atrium or in the Coffee Lounge of the Hotel Bayerischer Hof are therefore no longer possible. In contrast to last year, press activities are no longer focused on the Rosewood Hotel.
- The Press Portal introduced last year serves as the central tool for all media representatives. In addition to applying for press accreditation, it offers a wide range of options for planning your activities during the conference and coordinating appointments. The portal takes you directly to our Media Hub, where you will find all the information you need about your participation in MSC 2025. Shortly before the start of the conference, you can request interview rooms in the Press Portal and get an overview of the agenda and the (press) events to which you are invited as a media representative.
- This year, the MSC is offering a Vertical Space for the first time. It is located in the HypoVereinsbank and offers a studio setup and basic equipment to produce vertical content for social media. Use of the space is free of charge, but must be booked in advance via digital@securityconference.org.
- The press pooling will take place at the back of the Hotel Bayerischer Hof (on the corner of Prannerstraße and Kardinal-Faulhaber-Straße). This is also where the security gate for media representatives will be located. As in previous years, you can enter the security area via Kardinal-Faulhaber-Straße. Pooling for scheduled photo and press appointments will take place 30 minutes before the start of the respective program item. Please arrive on time and allow sufficient time.
- A Media Info MSC 2025 WhatsApp channel will be set up for MSC 2025 to provide real-time information on all events open to the accredited press. By following the info channel, you will receive notifications about sessions open to the press at Hotel Bayerischer Hof, press activities at HypoVereinsbank, the start of pooling and important changes to the program. To access the channel, you can scan the QR codes available in the media center and in the press pooling area.
- Before and throughout the conference, useful information for journalists will be provided by our communications team via e-mail. Keep an eye on your e-mails for links to photos, video clips and session recordings or check our media portal via https://media.securityconference.org/ for updates. For additional information or questions, please contact digital@securityconference.org.
In addition to its main program, the MSC will once again offer numerous exciting outreach events for the public. The outreach events offer the interested public the opportunity to follow the MSC's debates up close and participate in them. Some of the outreach events are organized with partners such as the Chamber ensemble of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, the Literaturhaus München or the Cyber Innovation Hub of the German Armed Forces.
Please find more information on these events as part of the 61st Munich Security Conference here.
No parking spaces are available near the event hotel or at the Media Center. The area around the conference venue Hotel Bayerischer Hof will be a security area during the conference weekend. We therefore recommend arriving via public transport.
The list of participants of the MSC 2025 will be published shortly before the conference and will be available in your Press Portal and on our website. If you wish to organize an interview or background talk with one of the participants, please reach out to them directly.
A successful press accreditation requires each media representative to undergo a police background verification. This verification must be agreed to in writing as part of the accreditation process in the Press Portal. Further information on the police background verification can be found in the attached document in the Press Portal. The safe conduct of the Munich Security Conference is a top priority for both the MSC as organizer of the event and the Bavarian authorities. Therefore, it is necessary that all persons entering the security area around the conference or carrying out an activity on-site undergo a police background verification.
The Press Pooling Area at the back of the Hotel Bayerischer Hof (accessible via the press entrance in Kardinal-Faulhaber-Straße, 80333 Munich) serves as a meeting point (pooling) and information area for events open to media representatives as well as planned photo and press appointments. The following pooling options are available:
- Photo opportunity in Main Hall I (only accessible for photographers)
- Access to sessions open to media representatives (for Main Hall II, Townhall, Public Square). Participation of up to ten journalists is possible (on a “first come, first serve” basis)
- Individual pooling appointments (for agreed individual invitations to interviews on the fringes of the event at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof).
