Munich Security Conference named "Best Think Tank Conference‎"

The Munich Security Conference (MSC) is the "Best Think Tank Conference" in the world, according to the University of Pennsylvania's latest "Global Go To Think Tank Index Report" published on January 28, 2021.

For the fifth time, the MSC leads the ranking since the category "Best Think Tank Conference" was added to the index in 2013.
For more than 50 years, the MSC has been committed to promoting dialogue and peace and has become the world's leading forum for international security policy.

MSC activities in 2020

More than 500 high-ranking international decision-makers attended the Munich Security Conference 2020, including heads of state and government, ministers of defense and foreign affairs, and leading figures from academia, business and civil society.

When Covid-19 became a global pandemic, the Munich Security conference quickly moved to hosting virtual events instead of physical gatherings. With 38 digital events, and the participation of more than 2000 participants from over 83 countries, the MSC demonstrated once more its ability to bring together world leaders and to discuss the most pressing issues. Topics covered in 2020 included climate, health, cyber security, and more.

In addition to numerous digital events, the MSC published four reports in 2020 – thereby contributing significantly to the security policy discourse.
