Leadership Group Warns of Nuclear Danger in Ukraine

Representatives of the Euro-Atlantic Leadership Group (EASLG) — among them the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI), the European Leadership Network (ELN), the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), and the Munich Security Conference (MSC), represented by the President of the MSC Foundation Council Wolfgang Ischinger — released a statement warning of the dangers to nuclear security caused by the current conflict in Ukraine. The statement also reminds the leaders of the five nuclear-weapon states of their joint statement from January 3, 2022, affirming that "a nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought" and calls for a diplomatic solution of the conflict.
