MSC Vice-Chair Rainer Rudolph Returns to the German Foreign Service
After more than two years, Ambassador Rainer Rudolph’s term as Vice-Chair of the Munich Security Conference will conclude on October 10, 2025. He will return to the German Foreign Service this fall to take up a new posting as Ambassador designate to Kosovo.
During his time at the MSC, Ambassador Rudolph played a key role in expanding the organization’s international reach. He was instrumental in strengthening MSC’s presence in Brussels and enhancing its visibility across the Asia-Pacific region. One of his main accomplishments is the establishment and guidance of the Middle East Consultation Group (MECG), which has brought together active and former high-level policymakers and experts from the region and beyond to engage on pressing challenges facing the Middle East. In only 12 months, the MECG held 8 meetings across 7 countries, offering a distinctive and timely forum for open exchange and inclusive debate.
Wolfgang Ischinger, Chairman of the MSC and President of the MSC Foundation Council: “We have greatly benefited from Rainer Rudolph's leadership and political expertise. We wish him every success in his next role as Ambassador in Kosovo. We look forward to staying in touch and to welcoming him to many MSC events in the near future!”
