Munich Security Conference co-hosts NATO 2030 Youth Summit

On November 9, 2020, NATO and the Munich Security Conference will organize the NATO 2030 Youth Summit. The virtual Youth Summit will bring together 18 to 35-year-old citizens from NATO member states and partner countries for a series of discussions and brainstorming sessions focused on keeping NATO strong strategically and politically in a globalized world.

In June 2020, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg launched the "NATO 2030" initiative – a joint reflection process to ensure the Alliance remains ready today to face tomorrow's security challenges. In this context, the NATO 2030 Youth Summit gathers young members of the transatlantic community for a conversation on the continued importance of NATO in an increasingly competitive world.

The Youth Summit will be organized in close cooperation between NATO and the Munich Security Conference (MSC). Building on partnerships developed and deepened as a part of the "NATO Engages" series, the MSC and NATO will engage with other organizations from their networks to curate selected elements of the program and facilitate the active participation of young professionals from various young leader programs throughout the Alliance.

Secretary-General Stoltenberg will deliver opening remarks, followed by an online conversation with young leaders from across the Alliance, and three brainstorming sessions. The event will include a video screening and award ceremony for the #NATO2030 video contest.
