The MSC 2024 in the Media

Amidst violent conflicts like Hamas’ terrorist assault and Israel’s retaliation, a regional conflagration in the Middle East, alongside numerous conflicts from Haiti to Sudan and Yemen to Myanmar, and Russia’s war of aggression towards Ukraine, this year’s Munich Security Conference (MSC) proved to be more relevant than ever on its 60th anniversary. Not only did the MSC 2024 gather high-ranking international decision-makers to discuss the world’s most pressing challenges of our time, but also attracted hundreds of media representatives from all around the globe.

The MSC strives to continuously improve its services for journalists and aims to ensure a productive atmosphere allowing for a fruitful and interactive coverage. Over 1,200 media representatives from 54 countries covered the MSC on-site, making it a significant media event. In addition, a significant number of live-stream viewers followed the numerous high-level discussions online. This year, we saw an increased interest in the MSC on various platforms and among the public, which was reflected in the strong international coverage in print media, radio, and television as well as the high response to the MSC´s content on social media platforms.

Our annual Media Analysis report is designed to measure and showcase significant trends within the national and international media coverage. It not only presents key developments but also highlights special issues, media partnerships, and on-site MSC media and digital communications activities.
