Boris Ruge, Vice Chairman of the MSC, discussed UK and US strategy documents with Nadia Schadlow, Senior Fellow at the Hudson Institute, and Angus Lapsley, Director General Strategy and International at the UK Ministry of Defence, and what Germany might learn from them. As senior officials, Nadia Schadlow and Angus Lapsley were both directly involved in producing the 2017 US National Security Strategy and the 2021 UK Integrated Review, respectively. Schadlow and Lapsley elaborated on the role of a national security strategy document for democratic states and presented their countries' approaches to security policy.
